Meet the
endocannabinoid system

The discovery of the Endocannabinoid System (ECS) in 1992 has led to a new understanding of science, health, and homeostasis of the human body. The ECS is found in nearly every cell and organ system in humans and animals. Pain, inflammation, digestion & appetite, metabolism, immune system, fertility, bone physiology, and memory have been linked to the involvement of the ECS.

Our ECS contains multiple receptors and targets including: cannabinoid type 1 (CB1), cannabinoid type 2 (CB2), serotonin receptors (5-HT), vanilloid receptors (TRPV), and peroxisome proliferator activated receptors (PPARS).

In order to maintain a healthy physiology, our body produces natural chemicals called endocannabinoids. Our endogenous endocannabinoids include anandamide and 2-arachidonoglycerol (2-AG) which interact primarily with receptors of the ECS.

Understanding Cannabinoids

The cannabis plant contains over 100 unique compounds called cannabinoids. These compounds interact with our natural endocannabinoid system by binding directly to our cannabinoid receptors as well as affecting how our natural endocannabinoids are regulated. Reserve:MD uses proprietary formulations uniquely designed to provide optimal synergy.

Reports of cannabinoids for medical ailments have been reported as early as 2900 B.C. Throughout history, cannabinoids have been used for several medical purposes including: Pain†, Inflammation†, Depression†, Anxiety†, Appetite†, Metabolic Disorders†, and Sleep Disorders†

Understanding Terpenes

Terpenes are organic compounds responsible for the aromas of plants. In addition to the primary effects of terpenes, research has shown that they work in conjunction with cannabinoids. Terpenes also directly interact with our natural endocannabinoid system. Reserve:MD’s formulations capture the unique benefits of terpenes and other natural ingredients to provide optimal synergy with cannabinoids.

There are several naturally occurring terpenes found in Reserve:MD’s wellness products. These are combined with nature’s most therapeutic compounds resulting in the most advanced scientific blends.

Some of the commonly found terpenes infused into our formulations include: Pinene, Myrcene, Limonene, Linalool, Terpineol, Carophyllene, Humulene, Terpinolene, and Ocimene.
